Learning from Nature

All parts in this world are from nature. In this world, humans and nature are very related each other for actually humans are the part of nature. This symbiosis will cause the nature needs us to keep it everlasting and we also need nature to help us. Nature has ecosystems and each of them is found the biotic and abiotic components. Rock, air, sunshine, water, and soil are the examples of abiotic components. We, plants, animals, and the other kingdoms (Bacteria, Fungi, Protist, and Monera) are the biotic components.
Every single thing, we can find the advantages and disadvantages those are also found in nature. Nature affords us─both plants and animals too─not only the advantages, but nature has also the disadvantages too. We can see those from the reality that has been happening.
Generally, nature has many helpful things and we live in this world to find necessary things those come from nature. Our nature has been grown so fast and it is caused of us that make it more useful. Using technology, we can get and process something about what we need, like food, drinks, clothes, and others from nature. They are always needed throughout the life together and help us in kind ways in life.
The advantages from nature come more easier when it is naturally free to be got, such as sunshine, wind, soil, oxygen, air, and water. They are more things those come in our life and contain many benefits if we use them. Breathing, an important example, needs oxygen which is a part of nature.
Disaster is one of disadvantages of nature that causes the environment be destroyed seriously. It is a sudden calamity that causes the ruin of buildings, victims, and loss of property. By seeing what had happened that impacts to our life, like earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, avalanches, and blizzards we just realized that nature is not always making us comfort. However, we must realise also that the disasters come now are the impacts of our acts. It’s caused by both nature and humans.
After knowing the advantages and disadvantages, we can learn from it that nature will be better if we have a good wisdom of using it. If we didn’t use the useful things which come from nature wisely, then we won’t realise that it will cause bad possible things for us. Responsibility of using them will lead us not to be a greedy people.
Unfortunately, we can’t avoid any disasters that comes suddenly, but at least we can change our habits to diminish the amount of disasters happened in next time. But if the disasters caused by humans, so don’t accustom something that will cause disasters toward nature. Litter in gutter that causes flood, cut down trees randomly that causes landslide are the example of how humans can be a factor of occurrence of disasters.

At the end, we will be waiting for how nature like be. We have to remain committed to keep our nature, pray, and look forward for the good future of nature. Now, It’s on our hands.

Favorite Song

I actually like some songs, like modern, R&B, pop, classical, etc. I'm confused of choosing my favorite songs because it's too many. Maybe what most people like to listen to, just as some popular songs, I also like to listen to it.

So, one of my favorite song lately is classical song. That is "Fantasie Impromptu" or Op.66. It was composed by Frederic Chopin and it has been popular since it was often played by pianists in the world and his musics are so good and hard. Till now, when there is a classical music concert, his songs are still alive and played in this era. It's difficult enough because it's played so fast and the melody is so classical. I think that not everyone love this song genre, classical, but maybe I like to play a piano that makes it a little more sense for me. And now, I just can enjoying the song and hope that I can play it one day. Can you?

My Holiday

Hello guys! Were you happy with your last holiday? Was it enough?
I think that it was enough and I was so happy because there was no school and it was the time to me to lounge and did the activities casually.

The day after receiving the result of study for a semester in SMAN 3 Bandung (at 23 Des 2016), finally i started my school holiday time. In this holiday time, I decided to stay at home, my family had no plan to go out of my town.

Something that I usually to do at holiday time, that was helping my mom's homework. That's not too bad but I know it's very useful. All of my members worked together. My father washed the clothes, my mom cooked food but sometimes she liked to wash the clothes or make beds, my sisters sometimes washed the clothes and the dishes, swept the floor, mop the floor, and I swept the yard using the broom stick. Maybe it's often done by my family members because we don't have assistant and we didn't feel burdened knowing my mother is actually sick.

It was certainly I did my habits as usual. At home, I played the games on handphone, watched TV, ate delicious food, took a bath, make my bed, played with cats, and others. My sister did some exercise at her college to prepare her next semester. My other sister went to hospital to serve her patients as I know she will be a dentist and she should practice to serve patients, controlled by her lecturer.

At the weekend, I and my family went to the mall. The best side is I was bought by my parents a new sport shoes. I got what I wanted and then my sisters shopped many snacks and their needs. My mom got some clothes, but my father didn't buy anything for his self. And of course bought some household needs for my family.

That's all my holiday. There is boring side but there is always too the good side. I think that's a little bit boring but it's okay, I could play games at home.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin

Co-founders of Google
Founded: September 1998

Like all good genius start-up stories, Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google Inc. in a friend's garage in Menlo Park, Calif. Since its incorporation on September 4, 1998, the company has grown to nearly 20,000 full-time employees worldwide, and with a steady stream of new product developments, acquisitions, and partnerships, has extended its reach far beyond its modest beginnings as a web search engine. Perhaps even more impressive is Google's image as the pinnacle of cool, with a reputation for being hip, innovative and wildly successful--all without compromising its "Don't be evil" philosophy.
Larry Page's interest in technology began when his father, the late Carl Page--Michigan State professor and pioneer in the fields of computer science and artificial intelligence--gave him a computer at the age of six. Page graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in engineering and concentration in computer engineering. He achieved his undergraduate claim to fame by building an inkjet printer out of Lego blocks.
Page worked for a few years in the technology industry before deciding, at the age of 24, to pursue a Ph.D. in computer science at Stanford University. It was there, as a prospective student, that he met Sergey Brin, who was assigned to show him around the campus. Brin, originally from Moscow, moved to the U.S. with his family when he was 6 years old. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science, with honors, from the University of Maryland, where his father taught mathematics. At Stanford, he was studying ways to extract patterns and relationships from large amounts of data.
Google's own website implies that the two disagreed "about most everything" during this first meeting.
But their friendship was given the chance to blossom in 1996, when Brin joined Page in his BackRub research project, exploring backlinks--links on other websites that refer back to a given webpage--as a way to measure the relative importance of a particular site. The pair then developed the PageRank algorithm (named after Page), hypothesizing that using this tool, they could produce better results than existing search engines, which returned rankings based on the number of times a search term appeared.
They tested the BackRub search engine later that year on Stanford's servers. Without a web developer, they kept the search page simple, but were challenged to find enough computing power to handle queries as the search engine become increasingly popular.

"At Stanford we'd stand on the loading dock and try to snag computers as they came in," Page said in an interview with Technology Review in 2000. "We would see who got 20 computers and ask them if they could spare one."
Page and Brin eventually renamed the search engine Google, as a play on the word "googol," a mathematical term represented by the numeral one followed by 100 zeros--a reflection of their mission to organize the seemingly infinite amount of information on the internet.

Reluctant to leave their studies, the duo ran the operation out of their dorm rooms. But by mid-1998, Google was getting 10,000 searches a day; so, finally convinced, they maxed out $15,000 worth of credit cards to purchase a terabyte of disk space and drafted a business plan.
Things have gone well since then. In August 2004, Google went public with an IPO that raised $1.67 billion, and in typical Google fashion, became the first and only company to allocate its stocks using computers rather than Wall Street bankers. For the quarter ending June 30, 2008, the company reported revenues of $5.37 billion, an increase of 39 percent compared to the second quarter of 2007.
The famous Googleplex headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., is also something to boast about. Known for its relaxed atmosphere and envy-inducing employee perks like subsidized massages, on-site stylists, and three free gourmet meals a day, the campus currently spans 2 million square feet of office space, and a recent acquisition will soon add another 1 million square feet.
Google's "Milestones" page reads more like a novel than a series of highlights, but there's still more to come. In a 2005 interview with Financial Times, Brin stated, "There's a lot of room for improvement, there's no inherent ceiling we're hitting up on." And so far, that's been the case, from the $1.65 billion purchase of YouTube down to the continued development of the ubiquitously popular GoogleMaps and Picasa photo applications.
To say that Google has had a tremendous impact on the internet is the definition of understatement. After all, the company has already found its way into the vernacular--as a verb, no less. In 2006, the word "google" was added to the Merriam Webster Dictionary as, "to use the Google search engine to obtain information on the World Wide Web."
Page and Brin are both on leave from Stanford, but success has kept them busy. They are still involved in daily operations at Google as president of products and president of technology, respectively.
"Basically, our goal is to organize the world's information and to make it universally accessible and useful."
--Larry Page

"To me, this is about preserving history and making it available to everyone"
--Sergey Brin

My Unforgettable Memory

I have many unforgattable memories, but right now I want to tell you about my unforgettable memory when I was eighth grader. As I have told before, I studied at SMPN 5 Bandung. So, one of the most memorable moments during I studied there is when me and my friends went to Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta is a beautiful city and also have many cultures that is very good too. It has many tourist attractions that can be visited by everyone.

The first, we from the eighth grader had bought the ticket to go to Yogyakarta. Me and my friends went to the Bandung Station because we wanted to go there by train, actually my teacher also joined up the trip. At the eveing, after waiting for departure time, finally we left the Bandung Station.

On the train, we all were enjoyed the travel by train. There, we made the wargon crowded. We all played on the train. Some of us were playing card, some of us were listening to the music, some of us were also chatting with their group, and many more. We did those all activities til the night. Maybe at the night everyone had felt tired, so we all slept during this travel.

At the early morning, we arrived at the Yogya Station. We prepared our own goods before leaving out of the train. Then, we went to the next place by bus. We would go to the restaurant and prepared for the next trip such as taking a bath, praying, and also we ate at that restaurant. We went to the hotel and the hotel was good and comfortable, so we would take some rests for two nights and three days. After checking in to the hotel, we all started the trip by bus and immidiately went to many tourist attractions.

In Yogyakarta, we went to some tourist attractions. We all together have planned to visit De Mata & De Arca Museum, Taman Pintar, Museum Sisa Hartaku, Keraton Yogya, Malioboro, Mount Merapi (from the slope), and beach too.

In De Mata Museum, we can take photos with the 4D result, it's like a real photo

After visiting all of our tourist attractions, we went back by train and we were so admired to see many magnificent places.

One of many places that I want to visit is Singapore. Singapore, or also known as the Lion City is a global city and sovereign state in Southeast Asia and the world's only island city-state. Although it's a small city-state, during this era, this state has been increasing so fast, for example the quality of its citizens are good and productive, the technology has been so modern, the city is clean and there is no one would litter in, and many more. If we were there, there would be many rules in order to make us more discipline.

Singapore is a crowded state. Certainly, it provides many facilities to be used for example luxury hotels, shopping centers, and restaurants. There are many public transportations too that make the tourists feel comfort to travel. Other than the public facilities in the central city, It also offers many good tourist destinations that can be explored. So, it's a comfortable and a lovely place to stay.

It's also one of the most cleanest city in the world. We don't see any trash that is scattered on all public places. If we as the tourists litter the environment, we have to adapt with the culture of its local people.

The benefits of visiting this country are we can attract with the local people, we can see the new scenery that is different from our country, we can stay with the productive and smart people, we can study their local culture, etc. If somebody want to recreate, there are several good destinations offered in this state.

Merlion (The symbol of Singapore)

Singapore Flyer

Singapore Zoo

Sentosa Island

Orchard Road

Universal Studio

Botanic Gardens

Mostly the visitors come to those destinations. Actually there are more than as they have been attached above. The places are so enjoyable for the tourists. We can see the beautiful scienery there. Because of that I want to visit this place. How about you?

Megantara was a culture festival held by 3 Senior High School Bandung (and helped by the sponsors) on Saturday, 10 September 2016 at Lapangan Bali, Bandung. The school actually holds the performance art once a year with a different name every year. After seven years it didn't hold the event, eventually 3 SHS held it again and Megantara is the third event after "Gamarvani" performance art. 3 SHS Bandung holds this special event for everyone who wants to attend especially for the students of this school.

As I had bought a ticket, so I had been on Lapangan Bali at 7 a.m. for tenth graders have commanded by the commitees to join the procession. Tenth graders had to dress up with "pangsi" for boys and "kebaya" for  the girls. There were children too that also participated in that time. We including the commitees started the procession through Bali Street, Belitung Street, Sumatera Street, Merdeka Street, Jawa Street, and then back again to Lapangan Bali. Along the way, we cheered and promoted about the Festival Megantara had been held and shared the location of it too. After doing the procession of Megantara, we should be waiting before the open gate and the show get started.

The gate was opened for the public at 11.35 a.m. The students of 3 SHS must pay the internal ticket Rp 100.000,- each. The entrance ticket (external ticket) was only Rp 30.000,- each for everyone except the 3 SHS Bandung students if they bought it before the event day was started, but it would cost Rp 35.000,- if they bought it on the spot. After buying the ticket we could enter the gate and would be checked what goods we brought.

Because the theme of this festival was Indonesia Culture, so it had been decorated in such a way like the paintings of the photo-booth and the decorations maked the atmosphere of Indonesia culture from the various of islands united.

When the gate was opened for the public,  the visitors had not been crowded. I came to Lapangan Bali at 1.15 pm. and there were many food stands,  games,  and many souvenirs.  Mostly visitors bought the food because they were so diverse. Since Megantara has started the show on the stage,  we could see many performances including from many art extraculicullars of 3 SHS Bandung students. There were MK3,  Band3, KPA3,  TisT, and many more.

Hence,  time by time we all were waiting for the guest stars performed. They performed at the evening.  The Cangcuters performed at 7 pm. and it was so amazing. At the evening the visitors become so crowded and everybody watched its performance. Unfortunately,  I had to go at 7.30 pm. and I didnt watch RAN and didn't finish til' the end of the show. Although I had to go,  I was so entertained and the festival was so big,  good,  and amazing.

WTTF (World Tournament and Techno Fest)

On Saturday, 22 August 2016, 3 Senior High School Bandung held an event called WTTF. In this event, there are many games we have to play. As the name is tournament, so there will be competitions about the technology. The event was started at Lapangan Bali near from 3 SHS Bandung. It started at 6.30 until about 15.00. The commitees have devided the participants into a group. A group has many competitions between tenth graders and grade eleventh graders. So, me and my friends are from grade X-9 would be against XI-9 graders. We would move to the other place to join the new competition if a competition had been done. Although the opponent's grade was higher than ours, we would try the best.

The first game was located at Taman Tongkeng. We went there from 3 SHS on foot. There, we made a robot from a box. We should put anything until it was formed like a robot. It looked a little bit difficult for us and XI-9 was better than ours. So, XI-9 won the game. After we had made a robot, we moved to Taman Foto, there we joined a game and we were draw because each team has the same ability. We went to 3 SHS again and in the class we watched a movie that's related to the technology. Next, we played near the canteen and played a quiz. The quiz was about general knowledge. We lost and XI-9 won this game again. We continued to the next game. The game was playing a game on PC and it was good, finally X-9 won the game. After that, we moved to the front of 3 SHS Bandung, the game was eating noddles. The winner is from X-9 again. The next game was called "Second Rank" the winner is from XI-9 because we forgot we played the game till we are the first rank, so we lost this game. We had a break time and ate, prayed after tired doing those games. We did the last game at Lapangan Bali, we played football game on PC again and we won the game again.

The last, we from "32019" made a puzzle that formed to be 32019 text. Then, announcement of the best winner. The best winner is from X-8, although we were not the best, we were happy we had done all these games.
